Travis Valentine Fernando is perhaps my favorite and most versatile singer-songwriters in Michigan and he has been for an embarrassingly long time. I look up to him in SO many ways. This three song EP feels like the best thing he's released yet but I think that about almost everything he puts out... it's a perfect release. Favorite track: Are You Happy Here.

I don't care if you come back around This place ain't too small but it ain't hard to be found Took thirty years to end up this way Undo it all just cuz you chose to stay Are you happy here? Be honest Are you happy here? I take a drive to get my mind right daydream about the years now gone I get by on a 9 to 5 I don't want Still your work is never done Those summer nights when she'd pick me up Her hair wasn't long yet so she'd pin it up What the hell am I doing here I would ask myself As my past disappeared Are you happy here? Be honest Are you happy here? I take a drive to get my mind right daydream about the years now gone I get by on a 9 to 5 I don't want Still your work is never done Still your work is never done Always feel like I'm visiting So happy to be here and so anxious to leave Never felt so far away from home Its not always the places but the people you know Well, are you happy here? Be honest Are you happy here? I take a drive to get my mind right daydream about the years now gone I get by on a 9 to 5 I don't want Still your work is never done Still your work is never done

I can remember when you made up your mind You were done for good You were no longer mine Well I guess you didn't think I was as funny as that time We went out for drinks and I stayed the night You can't keep a bird locked away All that's good will remain Where do you go when the good starts to fade How do you look when your heart looks away Where do you go when the good starts to fade How do you look when you heart looks away from me Now the city is haunted with ghosts of what we just couldn't be I always knew you were better than me and I know in time your memory will fade It slowly bleeds out until we're strangers one day You can't keep a bird locked away All that's good will remain Where do you go when the good starts to fade How do you look when your heart looks away Where do you go when the good starts to fade How do you look when you heart looks away from me A light burns out The dark comes in Things work out Not how you wanted I know things are better off this way For you Its the kind of thing where your friends have no words to pick you up God it just makes it worse And you play it cool when you hear their name But we're not cool And nothing's the same Where do you go when the good starts to fade How do you look when your heart looks away Where do you go when the good starts to fade How do you look when you heart looks away from me

Those broken records they're your favorites and I don't know a single song Sometimes it feels like we're still strangers But I still stand by you right or wrong Happy New Year, you made it Well here's to your clean slate I don't believe in second chances You only get so many free passes Get up early and stay out late You're chasing someone who you couldn't change Keep going to places you say you hate but the people there swear some good will come this way Happy New Year, you made it Well here's to your clean slate I don't believe in second chances You only get so many free passes These conversations that we're having They tell me that some things will always stay the same So pack your suitcase, small town famous You don't have to leave but I won't die this way Happy New Year, you made it Well here's to your clean slate I don't believe in second chances You only get so many free passes
